On Initial Login:
Students--Your username is your student number or your student ID barcode (if you have borrowed materials from the library). USERPASS is the temporary password.

Staff--Enter your email username (North Platte) or employee number (McCook) and USERPASS for the temporary password.

Choose a Permanent Password
First-time users will be prompted to select a new password to use in future visits.

If you forget your permanent password, contact the library. Your old one cannot be retrieved, but it can be deleted and a new password entered.

Limiting Your Search
A list of fields is displayed when the down arrow is clicked. Choose the appropriate setting for the term entered or use the default setting for a search of all the fields.

Up to three keywords or phrases may be entered to further expand or limit your search.

Scoping the Libraries
An unrestricted search will find materials at all Mid-Plains Libraries and in all collections. Scoping can restrict a search to just the North Platte South Campus, McCook Main Library, or to certain collections of books.

Finding Magazine Articles
A search can be expanded to include articles from databases outside of the MPCC Card Catalog. At the bottom of the page, individual databases may be selected or Licensed Content may be checked to include all databases in a search. One search will then find Mid-Plains' library books and articles from magazines or encyclopedias.

Using Other Databases
Not all of the databases in the libraries' collections can be accessed with Search AGent. On-campus students should access the Online Library. Off-campus students can access additional databases through their Campus Web account. Additional information is available in the Library Guide on accessing databases.
