Obtaining Books - Online catalogs for Mid Plains Community College can be accessed from
anywhere. Access our Web sites at North
Platte (http://library.mpcc.edu/) or
McCook (http://mcclibrary.mpcc.edu/)
and click the link to the catalog.
- Books
may be obtained by email, phone, or interlibrary loan.

- Interlibrary
loan: contact your local public library.
Interlibrary loan - You may request books and materials that
are available in other libraries throughout the United States.
- To
find out what books are available at other libraries, access WorldCat
through NebraskaAccess
or the link on the MPCC Library Web Site.
- You
will need a driver's license for NebraskaAccess or a password for the MPCC site.
- Contact
either MPCC library to obtain a password.
Magazine Articles - The libraries have several periodical
databases that are available for off campus use. Most articles are available in
full-text formats the can be read on your personal computer. Articles that are
not full-text can usually be obtained through interlibrary loan.
- Go to
the MPCC site
and select one of the databases under the Magazines heading or use NebraskaAccess to link
to Wilson or eLibrary.
- You
will need a password to access the databases from the MPCC libraries.
Online Books - Thousands of ebooks are available for your
use. These are handy for research and to quickly find information relevant to
your topic. NetLibrary is a large collection of current books on a variety of
subjects. Many older ebooks can be found using the links found on the NP site.
- In
order to use NetLibrary from a
personal computer, you will need to have an account set up at one of the
libraries.
- Contact
either McCook or NP and request a NetLibrary account.
- Find
older books on the Internet by using one of the links on the MPCC Books Page. You do not need a password to
use these sites.
Reference Books - A large collection of reference books is
available online. These books contain the same information found in their print
counterpart and are often updated more frequently. The databases that contain
the ebooks usually have a search function that allows easy retrieval of needed
information.

red at the top of the page require a password, but the other listings are
free for anyone to use.
