Borrow items from other libraries in these easy steps.
  • Choose items available in Nebraska for the fastest service.
  • Use Campus Web for off-campus access to FirstSearch.
  • Most loans are free but a few libraries charge for this service.
    • If you only want free items, tell us in the comments.
  • This service is available to all MPCC students and staff.
  • Be sure to ask a librarian for help if you have any difficulty.

1. FirstSearch opens to the screen shown on the right. Click WorldCat if you are only looking for books or want to use the advanced search features. If you are off-campus, use the WorldCat link in your Campus Web account to open this page.

2. Terms entered using the basic search on the FirstSearch Home Page may include keywords, author, title, or subject terms.

3. Select the book you want from the list that appears and click the title. The individual catalog card record for the book will appear on the next page.

4. Check the title and copyright to make sure you have the correct edition and determine what library owns that edition. Items borrowed from libraries in NE usually arrive soon and are free to use. Use the Borrow this item link to open the ILL request form.

5. Fill in the blanks and click the submit button. The information requested in the spaces marked with a blue * is required in order to complete the ILL request. You may call the library at (308) 535-3726 to check on the status of your order.
